About the OAS Program

Our mission is clear - to raise our youth, we rely on the power of community. At OAS, we foster an inclusive community that introduces young people to transformative experiences, meaningful relationships, and positive behaviors, all of which contribute to their growth as healthy, caring, and responsible adults. Born out of the Easton Sports Development Foundation, Olympic Archery in Schools (OAS) is an exceptional archery program designed specifically for middle and high schools. By joining their school's archery team, students gain the opportunity to compete against other teams in the region and nationally. Get ready for exhilarating interscholastic games that will keep you on the edge of your seat as archers face off in individual and team match play. Take things to the next level with the State and National Championship where archers compete in events similar to the Olympic Games like the Ranking Round, Olympic Round, and Team Round! Archery not only provides a safe and enjoyable experience but also offers a host of benefits for everyone involved. Through the Search Institute 40 Developmental Assets, Positive Youth Development strives to make OAS a community of individuals who share goals, visions, and accountability for youth success through the sport of archery.

I Am An Archer Recognition Program

The I AM an Archer recognition program is designed to recognize accomplishments and to reward positive traits in youth. It begins with the opportunity of rewarding archers who exemplify the OAS five core values with a merit pin. Learn more here: I AM an Archer Recognition Program

OAS Five Core Values

For youth who shows respect for peers and adults, understands clear rules and consequences. Youth shows respect for equipment and school environment.

OAS Season Outline

OAS Curriculum

Our curriculum reinforces the OAS Five Core Values. It encourages positive traits in young people through the sport of archery in a team environment. The OAS curriculum introduces the Search Institute’s Development Assets® framework of strengths and supports, which has become the most widely recognized and most frequently cited approach to positive youth development. The OAS Curriculum is a step-by-step guide for instructors on how to hold practices with a focus on youth development. Our curriculum teaches the USA Archery (USAA) National Training System (NTS). By teaching NTS from the beginning, you will be giving your archers the right foundation in proper biomechanics, shooting technique, and practice habits. This will help foster a safe learning environment as your students practice good form and safety before working with a bow.

Once approved into the program, participating schools receive access to equipment discounts through an archery retailer and instructor training so that their instructors learn how to safely run an archery program and how to teach the fundamentals of Olympic-style archery.
